By now I’m sure everyone has heard about the Colorado woman that is going around Colorado Springs pooping in people’s yards. If you haven’t, go read about the Mad Pooper! When I first saw it, I was like OMG my yard pooper must have moved to Colorado. Yes, I Karen G was victimized by one of these people. I call it being victimized because you are left wondering why… Why Me??… What about me or my property made you do this to me??
So lets go back to when this all started. I had just gone back to work after having my baby and still waking up during the night to do feedings. I’m sitting there at work when I get a message saying “Someone pooped in our yard!” In disbelief, my first thought was no way and maybe its just a big dog’s doing. Then the picture came in 2 mins later (dumb Sprint it takes a couple of mins for me to get pic messages) showing what happened. After that there was no denying it was human as they left the boxers they used to clean up. Once it started sinking in as to what happened, I needed to know where on our property did this take place. It happened on side of the house that’s by the kitchen which has 3 big windows that you can see all the way into the living room. The living room that I spent a lot of time in (breast)feeding my baby and where I used to feel safe.
That same day I went out and got thicker curtains to make sure no one could see inside. We also replaced all burned out light bulbs around the house, as some of them were out. I went a little overboard and the fear kicked in because I kept on wondering, “What if I wake up during the night and someone is there watching me?!? What if I scream and drop the baby?!” Its a very awful feeling.
After the fear went away, I actually started being more proactive and making sure no one tries any funny business anymore. I’ve learned that it’s okay to question people and be all in their business especially if you feel something is off. Right now some might find the jogger lady funny or quirky but let me tell you its not funny. Not only is this disgusting but also degrading. You are cleaning up human feces off of your property. Most people dream about the day they can own their first home, paint their house every color they wish to and decorate it. No one ever thinks that their dream will be tarnished by the lack of respect and thoughtlessness from others.
I’ve always lived in neighborhoods that don’t have an HOA but once you deal with people disrespecting your home, neighbors that park all over the street and others neglecting their yard it makes you think, maybe HOAs are not that bad. HOA’s are there to help increase your home’s value by enhancing the neighborhood and setting certain standards.
PS – If you are looking to move or relocate to the Dallas Area, let me help you find your new home. I promise to make your experience a wonderful one and I will entertain you with all of my stories. 😊
